Pear Tree Walk, Westway
A new public space to support conviviality around the Westway Sports Centre, part of our Westway Community Street strategy.
Westway Sports Centre exists below the concrete raised carriageway of the Westway, and is comprised of an array of buildings and pitches. Our public realm design, which fulfils the startegic requirements of DK-CM’s own Westway Community Street strategy producd for the Westway Trust, is about making the spaces around the sports centre safer and more convivial. Bespoke raised benches make it easier to watch sports matches taking place, whilst ground-level signage promotes informal play and sports whilst also aiding wayfinding. Bespoke barriers re-work vehicle access to the space and further promote it as a place for people.
