Context

A new public space forming a frontage to Saint Anselm’s Catholic Church, Southall (Burles, Newton & Partners, 1967) which provides the church with a dignified forecourt to the street for the first time. New signage, lighting, tree planting, integrated seating and an information board form an integrated landscape threshold that also provides an accessible route to the church. The cream terrazzo and geometry of the new landscaping is a direct replica of the church alter inside.

The project was one of eight projects that form Southall Great Streets.
